My artist name is R.I.D. and I was raised in Fort Worth,
Texas and am currently living in Germany.
As for main influences it’s hard because there are so many,
Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Grandmaster Funk, Public Enemy,
Beasty Boys, Jay-Z, Future, Young Thug, Puff Daddy and the list goes on and on,
my pallet is wide and has no limits when it comes to the forefathers of Hip
Hop.

My music is very original while being true to all origins of
Hip Hop, old, new, I meat to really create the art you only need a simple beat.
If you feel it, it comes to you. When I hear a beat, I know right away if I
could write a song to it. I don’t waste any time. Nine times out of ten I finish writing the
song before I get the right to a beat. Since my influences come from such a
wide spectrum it’s hard to really say who I sound like. I like to think I have
my own sound but that I sound like them all.
In my younger years I was the lead singer in a very bad rock
band, oh the 90’s. So how did Hip Hop come into my life? Two years ago, I wrote
a movie script where my character was a hip-hop artist. As I started to learn
for the character I fell in love with the music and the history. I immediately
started to write my first album titled, “Nati, Nati”. After recording the first
five songs I started to prepare for the music video shoots while I recorded the
rest of the Album.
Then the Coronavirus and COVID-19 took over the world and
everything was put on hold. So, what to do in quarantine? Well self-quarantine
since I suffer from a lung disease called Pulmonary Sarcoidosis. My situation
hit me pretty hard and it is scary when I go out for simple things like to walk
my dog Diodoublegee. My emotions overflowed for those out there helping to keep
the world going while the rest of us stay home as much as possible.
Since I have all the necessary tools at home, I decided to
record a four song EP about the current situation. My first single release
titled “Hero” is dedicated to those Nurses, Doctors, Healthcare Workers, Cashiers
and all the others. The song releases on April 10, 2020 on all streaming
platforms and over 150 other distribution networks.

On May 4, 2020 I will release the second single titled
“Parallel Universe” a very emotional song about the current times that lead to
fear and depression and humanity in times of crisis.
On May 15, 2020 I will be releasing the third single, a more
uplifting song titled “Diodoublegee”, yes that is the name of my dog. At times
like these our furry little friends can be quiet entertaining and well
Diodoublegee is a gangster dog with mad skills and an attitude. The song is a
Hip Hop story of the original gangsta Diodoublegee vom Rhöner Erlen Bach, yes
that is his full name.
On May 29, 2020 I will be releasing the fourth single titled
“Quarantine” this song is about the, fun, struggles and endurance’s people have.
